 When machine knitting keep your eye on your tension mast. There can be a slight difference in the same brand of yarn from dye lot to dye lot or from one colour to another. So make sure the tension does not get too tight or too loose. |
| Always make a sample swatch and wash it the same as you will the finished garment. Mashine wash and dry for easy care. |
| Use good quality detergent for washing your garment as it makes a big difference to the appearance of the finished product (the colour stays true and bright). We find that Tide for cottons is one of the better ones. |
| Because of cotton's non-elasticity a proper tension is a key to success. The goal is to find a needle size or a gauge that after washing is nice and firm. A garment knitted too tight will be stiff and knitted too loose will become droopy and sloppy looking. |
